Free Willy Would be Proud of Radio Free

Who can forget Free Willy's strong determination?

Using the same type of determination

RADIO FREE NY SWEEPS TO VICTORY

Rarely does a Championship Final live up to its billing, but this was one for the ages.
In the opener, RADIO FREE NY had to wait nearly six innings to score the first runs of the game, but when a sure double play ball took a tough hop on the RAOUL’S/RJK shortstop and bounded into right field, RFNY took full advantage and scored five unanswered runs in the bottom of the 6th to win Game 1, 5-0.

In Game 2, RFNY jumped out to a 2-0 lead in their first at bat and everyone was thinking it could be a blowout. Hardly, because those would be the only two runs RFNY would score. But thanks to playoff MVP Matty Scaglia’s pitching and airtight defense, those measly two runs were all they needed but it wasn’t without drama. Defending PASL Champs, RAOUL’S had the tying run in scoring position in the bottom of the 7th and two outs. Unfortunately for them they couldn’t get the big knock.
Radio Free NY won the game, 2-1, to sweep the PASL Championship Series, two games to none.
Raise the Cup high, Uncle Curt

Inwood Awakens Trailer

The Insider has been mum on the future of Inwood.

  • Some say the Insider doesn't care and the League is over.
  • Others say The Insider is too much of a softball whore and won't let the league die.

No one really knows.

However, this short trailer of a job interview between the Insider and a prospective new groundskeeper to replace the legendary expensive and intoxicated Chelo

may be a clue indeed Inwood Awakens.

Maybe

Don't mark a K in your scorecard b/c it was a HR

The name of Dio Jackson's tournament may have been "Strike Out Cancer"

but the Truth is the Event was a Homer Run on the field

and more importantly it was a HOME RUN in the Fight for Life.

This was an incredibly well organized event
In a time where there is much confusion in life and softball,  Dio brought clarity to both worlds. He not only hooked the Cancer Research Center up with over $4,000, but he also treated the softball community to a peaceful 1st class event in an amazing venue.

No one else could have done better.

No one.

Well Done Brother .. well done

Reboot Series" Land of Confusion

There's too many men
Too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Just tell me why
This is a land of confusion.
This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and lets start trying
To make it a place worth living in." .. Phil Collins.. Land of Confusion

Phil Collins was one of my favorite singers  in the 80s, but I never really liked one of his more famous songs, Land of Confusion, b/c I thought the Video was weird

and it was weird, but it also had a message. One that I did not understand at the time.

I started thinking about this song and video again the other day when I was buying beer (Blue Moon) and heard a cool remake/re-boot of it by Disturbed (check it out good remake/re-boot)

So I went back and looked at the original video again

and now that I'm older I understand.

The message questions the conflict in the world and how our leaders are incapable of peacefully resolving it. Hell they made it worse,Unfortunately, 30 years later, the same message  resounds in politics

and yes in softball as well.

There remains a Land of Confusion in both. I'll skip the politics chatter and keep it to softball where moves made by our leaders leads to confusion, conflict, anger, resentment, and distrust.

In Softball many complain. Few help without an agenda. That is the True Confusion

There's too many men
Too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Just tell me why
This is a land of confusion.
This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and lets start trying
To make it a place worth playing in." .
