RADIO FREE NY SWEEPS TO VICTORY
Rarely does a Championship Final live up to its billing, but this was one for the ages.
In the opener, RADIO FREE NY had to wait nearly six innings to score the first runs of the game, but when a sure double play ball took a tough hop on the RAOUL’S/RJK shortstop and bounded into right field, RFNY took full advantage and scored five unanswered runs in the bottom of the 6th to win Game 1, 5-0.
In Game 2, RFNY jumped out to a 2-0 lead in their first at bat and everyone was thinking it could be a blowout. Hardly, because those would be the only two runs RFNY would score. But thanks to playoff MVP Matty Scaglia’s pitching and airtight defense, those measly two runs were all they needed but it wasn’t without drama. Defending PASL Champs, RAOUL’S had the tying run in scoring position in the bottom of the 7th and two outs. Unfortunately for them they couldn’t get the big knock.
Radio Free NY won the game, 2-1, to sweep the PASL Championship Series, two games to none.
Raise the Cup high, Uncle Curt.
You and your squad deserve it.
