"Stood up against Cancer" 
and participated in the http://www.copamaribel.com/ fight against cancer softball tournament in Jersey City this past Saturday.If your going to point out the WL flaws, you have to be fair and give them an incredible amount of credit for dedicate time,
money, and enthusiasm to this very worthy cause. Cancer is relentless and effects all our lives, and the WL did a wonderful job participating in this all day event. WL lost in the finals, but in reality they showed their humanitarianism on this unselfish day. WL players like ace Franny Donovan
put it in perspective when he said "It's Family Day" and stud hitting 2B Ray Ray Pena echoed his thoughts

ReplyDeleteWe all have someone in our families or we know someone who suffers from this horrible disease.
Having the opportunity to play softball for this cause was a pleasure. This wasn't about money, trophies, or braggin rights. This was about life and family.
There was a lot more that went on at this tourney that wasn't posted on this blog. Bottom line, it reminded all of us that softball is just a game.
I can't thank my boys enough for coming out and representing. Having you there with me is something I will always remember.

ReplyDeleteIt was indeed a day to come together for a great cause. My husband and I are just in awe with everyone’s enthusiasm and willingness to help us in this event.
I would like to thank all teams who participated; and specifically to the Westlanders for making this tournament an extremely competitive one even though it was about winning. But they certainly made everyone play hard and kept spectators on the edge of their seats.
