This kind of person must have both lost sight of what makes the game great and have such a low self esteem that if they go 1 for 4 with a game winning single instead of going 4 for 4 with 4 home runs off of a lob ball pitcher in a blow out, that they can't look themselves in the mirror. The challenge is the fun. A competitive close, and potentially low scoring game is not the problem here. Sounds like some people here actually want a beer league, and maybe that's what they should look for instead of crying about their batting average and wishing the league water down the talent so a few guys can brag when they talk with their drinking buddies. In the off season a discussion needs to happen to address the pitching. make your voice heard and let's see what happens. If you have to walk away, walk away. But please don't hate on the low scoring game. We have a lot of very good players who can't hit against pitching that has such a large advantage, from the small field size to the extra OF to the lack of bunting and stealing. Yes, there are talented players which is the one positive but even they look mighty helpless most of the time against most of these pitchers. Keep the pitching and make the necessary changes to give offenses a chance, and then all you've got to worry about is that you have completely changed a league that has existed for decades as a midpoint between extreme competition and beer league. Either that or just get it back to the awesome league it used to be. Let the good pitchers do what they want and we will have a league filled with great players like we do now. Take away the pitchers and the good players will leave. A power that understands what's good for the entire league and not just a few who want to win at any cost. Remove all the illegal pitching no matter who is involved. Whether a new one just bought on board or one who has pitched for twenty years. Establish a protocol and hold to it. Again, it's unlikely but you never know.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8896431037290255558.post-76549891114451446392013-08-28T15:28:39.761-04:002013-08-28T15:28:39.761-04:00Just to be clear...the "league" as you r...Just to be clear...the "league" as you refer to it is everyone in it, including the managers who run it and are the very ones escalating its demise. Let's not talk about the league like we talk about the government, as some nameless faceless entity. It's all of us, the players and especially the managers. There is a lot of clamor on Rick's site, but where is the outcry to your respective managers not to participate in the cheating? The very managers who profess loyalty to the league and to act in more than just a self-interested way have done the opposite. I totally understand Ang's point of view and surprisingly, believe that West was one of the few honorable teams going into all of this. But we can't have it both ways anymore - you can't have an exception for good guys or long-time pitchers or whatever justification. Everyone over a certain level is out as a pitcher at least. That level has changed over the years, but we all talk about the same guys so there is no real disagreement over who they are. Otherwise, things will persist with this if you can't beat em join em attitude and the league as we know it will disappear, perhaps as soon as next year. Since the inmates have proven they can't run the asylum, it would be a good move to provide executive power to a commissioner to make all determinations...no committee, appeals, etc. What he says goes, just like pretty much any other league we've all played in.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8896431037290255558.post-65851462170210766502013-08-28T08:10:12.923-04:002013-08-28T08:10:12.923-04:00Hey Ang, Jack here. No league should reach that level, especially this one since it was never intended to get like this. That said, I totally understand why you're throwing him. Can't blame you at all. The league has really failed to enforce things. You're throwing the best there is. 12+ k's in 2 games is insane against BJ. So we'll give it a shot. Probably won't score too much. It is what it is. Unfair but you have every right to pitch him since the league doesn't care. We'll give it our best shot. Great luck.
peace
jack-rfnyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8896431037290255558.post-48711883369091235702013-08-27T21:15:43.639-04:002013-08-27T21:15:43.639-04:00damn i wish people would sign they're post.damn i wish people would sign they're post.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8896431037290255558.post-48109658350964810972013-08-27T21:08:04.354-04:002013-08-27T21:08:04.354-04:00OH and by the way hell yeah we're damn proud !...OH and by the way hell yeah we're damn proud !!! we beat one of the best slingers around! and it was nice to serve it up to one of the teams that tried to take a shortcut!!! If all you want on your Sunday is a bunch of 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 games, you've found it. Most people won't give up their Sunday's wondering if they'll get a concussion from being beaned or going 0-6 in two games. The league dropped the ball. The league is on its last legs. All 1 run games pretty much dominated by illegal mercenary pitchers. Winning this league is as fraudulent as A-Rod's statistics. The only good thing in the league at this point is parity of talent level but the paid pitching fucks it all up, so the same teams continue to win in the playoffs. Another year, same result....zzzzzzzzzzz

It is kind of funny that Rangers got bit by the very arms race they helped start. I guess that's why Rick stopped blogging? The whole thing is a disgrace and hasn't been fun at all this year. If things don't change I can't see more than 6 or 7 teams coming back next year.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8896431037290255558.post-9019719745609600602013-08-16T23:07:28.531-04:002013-08-16T23:07:28.531-04:00after so long you come back with this? you are lam...after so long you come back with this? you are lame ricky.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
